FOR COBOURG COUNCIL
COMMUNITY SAFETY
My commitment to community safety in Cobourg is simple: residents deserve to feel safe in their homes, businesses, parks and downtown every day of the year.
Community safety will be the top priority this election. For several years clear concerns about crime, addiction, aggressive behaviour and the overall security in our community. These concerns can not be ignored!
As a candidate for Cobourg council I believe strong leadership means addressing safety issues directly, honestly and with action. Public safety is not only about enforcement, it is about prevention, accountability, community standards and ensuring residents and businesses see real results.
I support working collaboratively between municipal, provincial and federal partners, police, emergency services, health care providers, businesses and residents. No single government can solve this problem alone!
Cobourg council can support Policing and ensure illegal activities are not to be ignored and those who choose to live that life and disrupt the lives of others in Cobourg are held to account. A balanced approach with strong enforcement where necessary, combined with prevention, treatments and measurable results are a path to success.
Community safety is not achieved through promises alone, it requires leadership that listens ,acts and remains accountable to residents and businesses every step of the way. Cobourg council needs to be led locally and advocate far beyond town hall to ensure the safety of our town!
